Helpful Hints ~ Placing a Photo on
Digital Paper |
In this lesson by Digital
Scrapbooks and More, one of the most important skills to start digital scrapbooking
is covered; which is how to place a photo or image on a digital paper in
Photoshop®
Elements 6 in order to begin digital scrapbooking.

Step 1: Open a digital paper
in PSE 6 |

Open Photoshop® Elements 6 in the Editor Mode Open a digital scrapbooking
paper in Photoshop® Elements 6. Note: If you do not know how to open a
digital paper in PSE 6, please see our Helpful Hint “Opening Digital
Scrapbooking Papers” before attempting this tutorial Click for Helpful Hints |

Step 2: Open the File in PSE 6 |
|
|
|
Go to File > Open Or use shortcut keys Ctrl
+ O |
|
|
|
Step 3: Navigate to folder that holds the
image |
|
|
|
Navigate to the folder
that holds your photos or images that you would like to place on your digital
paper Double click on the
folder that holds the photo or image that you would like to use Note: If you want to see a thumbnail of
your picture instead of name, then click on |

|
Step 4: Open the photo you would like to
use |
|
|
|
Click on the image or name of file (see arrow #1 in red) Choose Open (see
arrow #2 in red) |

|
Step 5: Your photo is now open in PSE 6 |
|
|
|
Your photo or image is
now open in PSE 6 At the bottom of the
screen in the photo/project bin, you can see that you have two files open in
PSE 6. You have a digital paper on the left side and a photo (or image) on
the right side |

|
Step 6: Double click on your digital paper |
|
|
|
Double
click on your
digital paper to bring it into the workspace |
|
|
|
Step 7: Drag photo to digital paper |
|
|
|
Important: Make sure that
both the digital scrapbooking paper and the image are pulled into the
workspace area and that you can see them side by side like this example Drag the image to your digital
scrapbooking paper by holding down the left mouse button (PC) and letting it
up when you get to the digital paper. This is called “Drag and Drop” See red arrow 1 Special Note: Do NOT drag
the photo up from the photo/project bin on to the paper as this often cause
problems for some future digital scrapbooking activities and changes the
image layer. See red arrow 2 |

Step 7: Now the photo is on the digital
scrapbook paper |

have now placed a photo or image onto a digital paper! |
