Helpful Hints ~ Downloading a Zipped
File |
A “Zipped File” basically
means a compressed file. When files are compressed, or zipped, it usually helps
decrease the file size significantly so that it is easier to download. If the
file is not compressed, it may be too large in its original size to send to download.
Once you know how to download a zipped file, it will be easy to download Digital
Scrapbooking Tutorials, Digital Papers, Kits, Supplies, and even Digital
Scrapbooking Freebies!
|
Step 1: Click on Link |
|
|
First, navigate to the
website that has the link you would like to download In this example, we
would like to download these free digital papers that are available on this
particular day Click
once on the blue text that says CLICK HERE |
|
|
Step 2: Save the Download to your Computer |
|
|
A pop-up box will
appear Choose Save If you save your
downloads to your computer, you can use them later. If you only choose the
Open option, you have not saved the download to your computer to use later |
|
|
Next, navigate to the
folder that you would like to save this file in You can see that the
name of this particular file is “CB_ClowningAround_Kit.zip The “.zip” extension tells
you that this is a compressed file Note: It’s important save your download
in a folder that you will remember, so that when you need these
soon-to-be-downloaded digital papers, you know where they are! Once you have
navigated to the right folder, click Save |
|
|
Be patient as the
download may take a few minutes |
|
|
Once the file has
finished downloading into your specified folder, it is now saved onto your
computer Choose Close Important Note:
Please see our next free tutorial that teaches you how to unzip your newly
downloaded zipped file, so that you may begin to use and enjoy your recently
downloaded digital scrapbooking supplies! |
